The 101 on how to stop thinking negatively

There’s many times in our lives we feel stuck, out of options or simply unsure of what the hell you are doing. In those times we often question ourselves what we did wrong, we then will go on to blame ourselves, our town, our choices and the list well, drags on depending how weighed down you feel. I often find my self here in the same boat fishing for negatives, one after another like a chain link process.
Overthinking negative thoughts, is known as ruminating it can be very overwhelming, and will never fail to make a great day a horrible one. Living a life dwelling on situations you think you can’t change can cause or lead to stress, anxiety, different types of obsessive compulsive disorders & depression. Rumination isn’t easy to overcome, but it’s best if you do; I, Myself thought if I tried doing it and looked through a more positive, more paced perspective where i would have the time to breathe (seriously), I really thought it would make me lazy. I feared about the ‘what ifs’, not getting what i want done and hell even gaining weight. The truth is, stressing, planning and thinking negatively takes over you and makes you think you are leaving your problems left unsolved but you really aren’t. At the end of the day, if you aren’t okay, or feeling at ease your trying too hard. There are many things in life we all want and we have to realize we can’t have it all. The chances are if we are always negative or can never catch a dull moment, the chances of us achieving things and maintaining them successfully often will set us up for failure. Being a full you and having a positive mental state not only is a better you but it gives you power when you think more clearly. It’s quite noticeable when you are or aren’t. Listen to your needs, and don’t starve them in hopes of getting where you want to be faster.
So how do you change your train of thoughts?

Using Affirmations

What is a Affirmation and How do they work?
An affirmation is the act of stating something that is true. They work by repetition tricking the mind into believing what you are preaching within time.
Now when i had this mentioned to me I thought this girl was out of her mind talking to herself and sounded crazy as hell but, honestly after you find the right ones you deeply believe in and want to excel on you’ll start to feel better repeating these words to yourself appose to building a negative tower in your mind.

So time to branch off of my babbling and give the affirmations I use and some tricks to remember to do them and then actually DO them and not get side tracked.

  • I have what it takes to become successful.
  • I will not let anyone or anything stop me from reaching my full potential.
  • I am enough.
  • A serving size is whatever you serve yourself.
  • Progress is progress. It is not measured it is done by trying.
  • I am becoming smarter everyday.
  • Everything takes time you can’t make shortcuts and get mad you missed a view along the way.

Whether you use mine, create your own or read others make sure they fit to you and you don’t feel silly repeating them to yourself or scared someone might hear you say them. OWN these affirmations.

Some tips to get used to repeating these is to place them in areas you don’t miss. Sticky notes at your desk? Mirrors, Backgrounds on your phone, set reminders/alarms, fridges etc.

If you related to this blog in any way, really check out the effects of affirmations on the brain and how using them can help alter or change our perspective for the better. This is something you need to practice and repeat because I promise one time repeating your list or mine will not turn you into a perfect careless fairy but within time you will notice your reactions, the way you deal with things, pace and most importantly confidence will glide your way.
