Have you ever cursed at your self as your pulling into the gym and you realize you forgot some of your gym gear? You found the perfect parking spot, parked the car and already are putting it in drive? Nothing is worse i mean only if it’s leg day. Forgetting something you thought you had is enough to ruin any workout and c’mon i know we all love the feeling of leaving the gym after a successful work out but after 3 minutes of being in your car in the parking lot and leaving those are the times i wish i had the option turtles did, cringing back into their shells to hide. If you are the type of person that can travel back home for shoes, headphones or whatever it is you forgot and actually make it back to the gym you my friend, have superpowers.
- Head Phones
If you know me, you probably know i loose everything or at-least just about. I mean it’s hard enough keeping a phone on hand it was only my last one i tracked 3 times successfully, until the 4th time in which was the time i really, really lost it. So they say “why no to air buds” simply because i would rather untangle my headphones everyday happily knowing they are attached in one piece. I won’t workout without music it’s impossible, i am one of those and you should be too music is great during a workout and an even better distraction from background noise. You can also never a trust a gym’s playlist one minute they are playing Despecito to Du hast by Rammstein. Another feature of not forgetting your headphones means you don’t have to listen to obnoxious grunts, my favorite-slamming of plates (totally not), and if you want to be left alone slip in your headphones, you’ll thank me later.

2. Socks
I think just about everyone enjoys a nice set of pitt-socks but when you show up to the gym and forgot about your comfy socks it can make for an uncomfortable workout and have you doing these two things #1 The traditional fold down and if you don’t know what this is I’ve attached a picture for the 00’s readers.

#2 if number one didn’t work, go home or risk your shoes and go without socks. Honestly, for the pitt sock reason and because red socks with a colored shoe is a fashion disaster no shows are the best always keep an extra pair in your gym bag. I like and try my best to always have shoes and after gym clothes with me as well basically to save me from the gym shorts & work heel duo.
3. Hoodie
For as comfy as it sounds.
4. Lifting extra’s
There are a few things we would rather not share with the rest of the gym and that is other people’s sweat and germs, to avoid these use your own ‘extras’. Having your own equipment guarantees for a good fit and good quality (isn’t old or often used) which are two things your workout can benefit from.
4. A small storage bag
If you have long hair you should have a stocked supply of hair ties in your bag or you could pull half your hair out using rubber bands from the front-desk, your choice. Your also going to want to include your shower bag tip: use travel-sized products in here so you avoid taking up much space. Hair clips, a brush, facial wipes , a toner and depending on how much makeup you put on this as well should be included for after the gym.
5. DEODORANT
This item is crucial for everyone. Personal hygiene is important and honestly you may piss some people off if you don’t stay on top of it. I mean would you enjoy running on the treadmill and all of a sudden that person on the stepper besides you starts to smell like B.O? Bring deodorant to avoid wondering if it’s you and it being you, Sincerely everyone at the gym. i beg. I came across deodorant wipes and creams on Well, for those who don’t know well it is a wellness site containing natural, clean products and is Canadian!! Click wipes to see the one’s I’ve tried.
6. Shaker cup, Pre-workout/BCCAS
Be smart and not like kait, and purchase a leak proof bottle so you don’t soak your entire bag. Purchasing your own container of pre-workout or BCCAS is another great idea as it will save you from buying it everyday at 4-5 dollars a day.
